Applications  General Help About Applications

The items on this page help you install and set up applications that use Expresso, such as the eForum, eSearch, or eContent projects from the Jcorporate site. This page also gives you access to the items needed to build your own applications using Expresso.

Install and Register a new Application

  1. Download the Application and install according to it's own installation documentation, or review the Component Application Installation instructions.
  2. Register the application by adding a new record to the Application Schema Object listing
  3. Run the DBCreate servlet (from the Setup page) to Initialize and create the applications tables, default security and setup values.
  4. Alter the Setup Values for the new application if required or applicable.

Instead of manually going through the above steps, Expresso 5.1 now has an component manager to assist you in installing and removing components.
